Beautiful photos and an wonderful text! Nature is astonishing right now. I can't believe our forest turned from brownish to green within three weeks. One of my favourite spring flowers is the patterned snakes-head fritillaria as well! They are so cute 😊 But on my balcony all their petals are already gone, so now I can't wait to see my sea pink flowering (little buds appeared recently). 😊
Thank you so much yes isn't is amazing how fast things alter after so many weeks of brown. I'm glad you share my love of fritillaries. Your sea pinks must be so pretty, I've never tried to grow them as our soil is so heavy here I think they'd hate it!
I also tried to grow them once in my parents garden, but the soil is heavy as well and I never had luck, but now on my balcony in pot they thrive and flourish. I even keep them outside during winter and they didn't mind -10 degrees nor relentless rain, yet. 😊
A beautiful celebration of spring! I love fritillaries and they flourish in my garden too as they love the dampness, but Monty the muntjac nibbled off all their heads this year. Very hard to forgive!
Thank you so much. I'm so sorry you lost your own fritillaries. Deer look lovely from a distance but I know they can be terribly destructive. I hope you have something else lovely coming into flower instead.
I'm so glad you found it peaceful. I think I need to re-read my own post as it's a very frantic week here with the wedding in two days and too much to do!
I'm so glad you liked it. Every year I kneel in the mossy grass and watch the fritillaries wafting in the breeze as I love seeing them just moving gently all together.
Absolutely lovely. The pictures and the commentary. 🩵🪻
Thank so you much that's so kind of you. It's all changing so fast outside!
